Filing Location:

City of Wixom Clerk's Office, 49045 Pontiac Trail, Wixom, MI 48393

Candidate Qualifications:

City Charter requires that candidates: (1) be a resident of the City of Wixom for at least one year prior; (2) registered voter on such last day for filing

Filing Requirements:

(1) An Affidavit of Identity is required from all candidates; (2) Nominating petitions containing at least 40 signatures but no more than 60 signatures

Election Dates:

August 5, 2025 (if necessary)
November 4, 2025

Petition Signature Requirements:

(1) Petition signers must be registered to vote in the City of Wixom; (2) voters may only sign the number of petitions equal to the number of offices being filled; (3) any signatures that are dated after the date on the circulator's certificate are invalid

Filing Deadline:

Filings must be made in the City Clerk's office by 4:00 p.m. in April 22, 2025. Candidates are urged to file early; if petition signatures are not acceptable and the approved number falls below the minimum required, you will be contacted to advise you of the shortfall. If a shortfall in the number of signatures required is discovered near or after the filing deadline, you will not be permitted an extension, and your name will not appear on the ballot.

Withdrawal:

Candidates wishing to withdraw must submit in writing no later than 4:00 p.m. in April 25, 2025.

Campaign Finance:

It is your responsibility to contact the County Clerk at (248) 858-0563 to determine what requirements you may be subject to regarding campaign finance. You should do this prior to expending funds, advertising, or placing signs in support of your campaign, to avoid improper activities.
