OAKLAND COUNTY RESOURCES FOR OUTBREAKS/PERSONAL HEALTH QUESTIONS
During any public health crisis, the Oakland County Public Health Division is the most authoritative source of information.
Any information regarding COVID-19 outbreaks or outbreaks causing death must come from the Public Health Division. Neither the City of Wixom nor any of its public safety departments (Police and Fire) are authorized to release COVID-19 outbreak information.
If you have concerns about a possible COVID-19 outbreak in your area or a personal health concern, please contact Oakland County Public Health as follows:
- Call 1-800-848-5533 and press 1 for the Nurse on Call
- email the Nurse on Call at noc@oakgov.com
Please contact your healthcare provider for coronavirus testing. If you do not have a healthcare provider, you can contact Oakland County using the information above.
Some Steps to Take to Protect Yourself from COVID-19 and Other Illness
- Stay informed using information resources like the ones provided below
- Wash your hands thoroughly (for at least 20 seconds) AND frequently
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth with unwashed hands
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick (coughing, sneezing)
- Stay home if you are sick
- Clean, disinfect surfaces and objects people touch frequently
