Home MenuEagle Scout Project Requests
Wixom and the Lakes Area are home to many active troops of the Boy Scouts of America whose members are frequently looking for challenging Eagle Scout service project ideas. The City of Wixom appreciates the opportunity to make projects available to Eagle Scout candidates. Scouts provide important community services from which our residents benefit greatly.
Service to others is an important part of the Scout Oath: "...to help other people at all times."
Each year, tens of thousands of young men strive to achieve the coveted Eagle Scout rank by applying character, citizenship, and Scouting values in their daily lives. One of the rank requirements is to plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to any religious institution, school, or community. Through this requirement, Scouts practice what they have learned and gain valuable project management and leadership experience.
Past Eagle Scout service projects in the City of Wixom include:
- Landscaping a subdivision common area
- The repair of a pump at the City cemetery
- Designing and installing flower boxes for the Gibson House
- Planting a tree farm at the Department of Public Works
